The Watchung Hills Regional Education Association (WHREA) is a professional organization comprised of teachers, secretaries, bus drivers and school maintenance personnel.  The WHREA is dedicated to creating connections between its members and the communities that make up the Watchung Hills school district. While serving the student body is always the number one priority of our Association, it is also important for us to feel a part of the entire community as we work to enrich the lives of those around us.


The Watchung Hills Regional Education Association is a diverse, democratic organization working to create an optimal environment to achieve excellence in public education in New Jersey.


The mission of the Watchung Hills Regional Education Association is to advance and protect the rights, benefits, and interests of members, and promote a quality system of public education for all students.


Member Advocacy – To preserve and improve the economic interests, working conditions, job security, and pensions of all members.
Organizing – To strengthen the Association by maximizing membership, developing leadership, and supporting affiliates.
Enhancing Public Education – To promote and deliver quality professional development for educators. To advance and support policies that enhance and enrich public education.
